In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Africa CDC health agency, affiliated with the African Union, has stated that the peak of the Ebola epidemic has not yet been reached, contrary to claims by Congolese authorities who announced this peak occurred in mid-August.

Since the outbreak began in May, it has become the largest ever recorded in the country, with more than 7,400 confirmed cases and over 3,500 deaths according to the latest available data.

This discrepancy highlights ongoing uncertainties about the progression of the health crisis in DR Congo, where the fight against Ebola remains a major challenge.
