The Flamanville EPR nuclear plant in France will be shut down starting this Saturday for approximately one year, according to RFI. This next-generation reactor, the first of its kind in the country, was connected to the electrical grid only two years ago after more than 19 years of construction.

This shutdown is to allow for a major inspection, including the replacement of the reactor vessel lid, a critical operation to ensure the safety and reliability of the facility.
