As space rivalry among major powers intensifies, the International Space Station (ISS) continues to represent one of the last strongholds of scientific cooperation between geopolitical adversaries.
Alban Guyomarc’h, a researcher in space geopolitics at the École Normale Supérieure in Paris, emphasizes that the recent ISS mission goes beyond mere technological achievement: “It is one of the few collaborative spaces that still exist today in a very conflictual era.”
This collaboration illustrates science’s ability to transcend political tensions, providing common ground between East and West despite current global conflicts.
