Ferrari finished 4th and 6th with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, a result deemed insufficient by the team.

Ferrari team principal Fred Vasseur assured that developments would be brought “soon” to the SF-26, responding to Leclerc’s criticisms about the recent lack of progress.

Leclerc, a Baku specialist, surprised by qualifying second despite a straight-line speed deficit. However, he quickly lost positions during the race before finishing 4th, aided by an error from Oscar Piastri.

Hamilton, finishing 6th, highlighted his struggles to warm up the tires, which affected his performance.

Vasseur acknowledged that straight-line speed remains a recurring problem this season, forcing Ferrari to make aerodynamic compromises that penalize race defense.

He also noted that the chassis performance gap with competitors has narrowed, complicating the situation.

Regarding improvements, Vasseur stated: “I won’t give a date, but it will be soon. We all bring upgrades at every race.”
