Paramount finalized on Tuesday the acquisition of Warner Bros Discover, following a bidding battle against Netflix, reports France 24.
The transaction was completed after federal approval of an agreement between Paramount and 12 U.S. states that had sought to block the deal on antitrust grounds.
Opponents within the film industry have warned of job cuts, while media groups have expressed concerns about the independence of CNN, owned by Warner, which could be compromised.
