In Morocco, public health has emerged as a central issue in the legislative elections scheduled for September 23. This concern was intensified by a tragedy that occurred a year ago: the death of eight women following cesarean sections at the regional hospital in Agadir, which highlighted the shortcomings of the Moroccan healthcare system.

This tragedy also helped trigger the GenZ 212 protest movement, underscoring the extent of popular dissatisfaction with access to healthcare. Despite reforms undertaken since then, access to medical care remains a major concern for many Moroccans, who are awaiting concrete responses from the incoming elected officials.
