Starting Thursday, October 1, reusable menstrual hygiene products, such as menstrual underwear or cups, are fully or partially reimbursed for all women under 26 years old as well as for those in precarious situations, the government announced, reports RFI.

This measure, in preparation for three years, concerns nearly 7 million beneficiaries who can now obtain these products at pharmacies. The government justifies this reimbursement by the ecological nature of these products.

Among students at Paris Nanterre University, this progress is welcomed but considered insufficient, emphasizing that further efforts are needed to improve access to menstrual products.
