The chairman of the Yemeni Presidential Council, supported by Saudi Arabia, and the Saudi crown prince requested American military intervention against the pro-Iranian Houthis in Yemen during calls with Donald Trump on Sunday, September 20.
According to the New York Times, Donald Trump refused to launch strikes against the Houthis despite these requests. This refusal comes as Saudi Arabia appears to be running out of military options against the group.
