Alex Dunne won the first race of the Formula 2 weekend in Baku, marking his first victory of the 2026 season, according to the official FIA Formula 2 statement.
The Alpine F1 Academy and Rodin Motorsport driver converted his pole position into a win, benefiting notably from a Safety Car period and an intermediate red flag to overtake Oliver Goethe in the final laps.
This victory, Dunne’s first this season, moves him up to third place in the drivers’ standings, just eight points behind leader Rafael Camara, who has 181 points. Nikola Tsolov, currently second, was forced to retire from this race.
Martinius Stenshorne, Dunne’s teammate at Rodin Motorsport, finished second after a recovery drive, while Dino Beganovic took third place.
