Bosnia is holding its general elections on Sunday amid a political landscape still marked by ethnic divisions inherited from the 1990s war, reports France 24.
The election campaign has been dominated by parties closely tied to these ethnic divides. Voters are called upon to elect a large number of representatives across several levels of government, within a complex system that has maintained the country’s cohesion since the 1995 peace agreement.
According to France 24’s correspondent in Belgrade, Laurent Rouy, this election continues to deeply reflect the tensions stemming from the past conflict.
