Ferrari has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Fred Vasseur, its Team Principal, amid widespread speculation about his future, notably following comments by Christian Horner, former Red Bull director, who described Ferrari as a “dream destination” in an interview with The Times.
Since his arrival in 2023, Vasseur has been the subject of recurring rumors regarding his position, exacerbated by the team’s recent mixed results, currently second in the Constructors’ Championship but without a podium finish in the last five races.
At the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Vasseur expressed frustration over the situation distracting the team. He reminded that his role is to motivate and focus the team on performance despite external distractions.
On September 29, ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix, Ferrari held a press conference to clarify its stance. Maria Conti, Communications Director, emphasized that the Scuderia has “already made its choices” and has “full confidence in Fred Vasseur and his team.”
She also stressed that Ferrari wishes to avoid fueling speculation from outside sources, whether related to Horner’s remarks or other rumors, and called for unity and concentration for the remainder of the season.
