Lewis Hamilton had a challenging weekend in Singapore, ending in disappointment during the race. According to Palmer, the decision to stay out on track during the Virtual Safety Car (VSC) period proved costly for the Mercedes driver.

Hamilton remained on worn soft tires, which caused him to drop down the order. Palmer points out that Ferrari should have brought him into the pits at that moment, as it was clear another stop would be necessary.

Making a pit stop under the VSC would have reduced the time lost battling against Antonelli and the McLaren cars. This strategic error therefore compromised Hamilton’s chances of securing a podium finish in Singapore.
