On October 14, the German group Lufthansa, Europe’s leading airline, won the race for the partial privatization of the Portuguese national carrier TAP Air Portugal. Lufthansa outbid the Franco-Dutch group Air France-KLM with an offer exceeding one billion euros.
This acquisition comes amid a fuel crisis that has sharply increased airline operating costs. Nevertheless, this deal reflects the airline sector’s resilience in the face of these economic challenges.
