Lando Norris finished ninth at the Malaysian Grand Prix following a dramatic off-track excursion behind the Safety Car, according to official Formula 1 reports.

The British driver started the race on medium tires, a choice he admitted was a mistake, explaining that mixed conditions and his lack of experience with intermediate tires complicated his decision-making. After the first Safety Car period, Norris and his teammate Oscar Piastri pitted for tire changes, but during a second Safety Car phase, an evasive maneuver around slowed cars caused Norris to run off into the gravel, dropping him to 11th place.

Despite this setback, he managed to climb back up to ninth position once the race resumed. Norris admitted to misjudging the situation and was summoned by the stewards for erratic driving under the Safety Car, receiving only a warning.
