In the Singapore Grand Prix Sprint, Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll were forced to retire following a collision less than one lap after the start.

The 100 km race, delayed by heavy rain, began under challenging conditions. While George Russell went off track while leading near the end of the first lap, Stroll also had to stop after a clash with Perez at turn 16.

Stroll immediately withdrew from the race, while Perez attempted to return to the pits but had to retire due to damage to his car.

The stewards investigated the incident but issued no penalties, concluding that Stroll had taken a reasonable racing line through the corner and was not at fault.

Perez stated he did not expect Stroll to close the door and that he braked too late, causing the collision. Stroll said he had not yet reviewed the incident and simply noted that he was hit.
