At least 154 people have died in recent days in Yemen amid clashes between the Houthis and Saudi-backed loyalist forces, reports RFI on 22 September 2026.

These hostilities have triggered massive internal displacement and cross-border flight. More than 130,000 people have already been forced to flee since the beginning of the month, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The UNHCR warns that this figure could rise to as many as 230,000 displaced persons, underscoring the severity of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
