During the month of October, France is hosting the Arbitration Days, an awareness campaign centered on the theme “What if we made arbitration an educational tool to fight incivility?”.

The goal is to raise public awareness, especially among young people, about the importance of the referee’s role in sports and beyond.

Among the ambassadors for this edition is Nicolas Maestre, a French international basketball referee, who shares the challenges of the refereeing profession and recounts his encounter with basketball star Victor Wembanyama.
