Paris police have ordered a new curfew in certain parts of the city for the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, France 24 reported on October 20, 2026.

This curfew, extending from 9:00 PM GMT Tuesday to 4:00 AM GMT Wednesday, specifically covers Place de la République in the central eastern part of the city, as well as the Les Halles district, a major commercial area. These sectors were scenes of numerous clashes and looting over the weekend.

According to authorities, a previous curfew imposed the night before had helped restore calm following the violence.

This new measure aims to prevent a resurgence of unrest in these sensitive neighborhoods by restricting nighttime movement.
