An investigation conducted by the investigative unit of Radio France and the ICI network reveals that 60% of eggs from free-range hens across France are contaminated by so-called “persistent” pollutants.

This contamination is yet another example of the various pollutions affecting the diet of the French population, despite repeated warnings from health authorities.

In response to these issues, measures have been taken to gradually limit the presence of cadmium in fertilizers. However, at the same time, several pesticides previously banned have been reauthorized, raising questions about the management of health risks related to food.
