Pierre Moscovici, French member of the European Court of Auditors, said on Thursday that the European Union’s post-Covid recovery fund, known as the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), has been “absolutely a success.”
Established in 2021, this fund has distributed €450 billion in grants and loans to EU member states to support their economic recovery following the health crisis.
According to Moscovici, despite the pandemic year of 2020, European countries demonstrated strong solidarity, notably by jointly procuring vaccines and adopting this massive recovery plan.
As the RRF enters its final phase, the assessment by the European Court of Auditors is very positive, highlighting the effectiveness of this joint response to the crisis.
